Gear Up BreakfastMr. Grijalva and Ms. Acevedo selected one representative from The Leadership Club to represent Wade Carpenter at the first Gear Up Leadership Breakfast.  This even took place on Wednesday, December 4th, 2019, at the C-CREO Hub.  Each middle school in Santa Cruz County Selected one representative from their club to represent their school at the breakfast.  The young leaders were part of an advisory committee to provide input and recommendations for the Gear Up Program.  The Gear Up Team along with Dr. Stella Perez (Director of the Santa Cruz Center) and Santa Cruz County School Superintendent, Alfredo I. Velasquez were among the individuals who were present at this event.

 Julian Campuzano was selected to represent WCMS at the Leadership Breakfast because of his excellent academic achievements, involvement in band, after school clubs, and because of his interpersonal skills.  Not only is Julian an exceptional students but he is a student who leads by example and shows great work ethics in and outside of the classroom.  Mr. Campuzano completed an "I am Poem", "Owl About Me Bag", and came of with the "top 10 Reasons why Wade Carpenter is a Gear Up School".  He then presented all three assignments to the advisory committee.  Julian did an excellent job and represented WCMS to the highest level.
