WCMS Check Out Plan

Good morning Carpenter parents,

Wade Carpenter administration has designated a check out plan for you to come to school to pick up your student’s belongings from school, PE, and Band lockers. Students have the opportunity to drop off any textbooks or library books in their possession.  Students will also have the opportunity pick up K-8 Distance Learning Packets if necessary.  To adhere to and respect the COVID-19 social distancing mandates implemented by Arizona Governor Ducey, no one will be able to park or get out of their vehicles. We respectfully ask that you follow this guideline. We appreciate your support and understanding. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.  We ask that you write your student’s name on a piece of notebook paper and place it on your windshield.  Please enter our campus by traveling East on Kino Street so there are no left turns.  Access and exit to the main parking lot will be one way only.

A message from the Principal.

We want to share with you some important updates that have happened here at Wade Carpenter, especially over the last week.  On Monday, February 24, we had Imagine Math (our online math program) Professional Development for the entire Math Team.  An Imagine Math Trainer spent the whole day with our Math Teachers.  The Math Trainer observed our math teachers and offered some strategies that can be implemented when the students are using Imagine Math.  At the Governing Board Meeting on February 24, four of our students were recognized for winning state titles at the Middle School Girls Cheer Competition.  Superintendent Parra presented our students with certificates of recognition.

On Wednesday, February 26, our ELA Team received Professional Development for Achieve 3000, our online reading program.  The Achieve 3000 Trainer shared some strategies our ELA Teachers can implement over the next month as we get closer to the AZM2 State Test in late March.  During the Early Release Meeting of February 26, our entire staff received training on Trauma Informed Care from Ms. Sonia Sanchez of Circles of Peace.  A guest presenter, Ms. Robin Blumenthal from Tucson, shared some Love and Logic strategies that our staff can use with our students.  The main focus of this program is to improve the relationships between teachers and students.

The highlight of this past week at Wade Carpenter involved the installation of the Ben's Bells Be Kind Mural.  We had some of our parents from the Parent Council volunteer their time during the entire day on Thursday, February 27.  Our parents worked in collaboration with the Artists from Ben's Bells and our Be Kind Mural is now complete.  We want to invite all of our Wade Carpenter families to come and observe this beautiful Be Kind Mural.  You could see the energy, pride, and enthusiasm from our students, parents, and staff as the Be Kind Mural was being built.

We had many Guest Readers on March 2 read to our students for Read Across America Day. Superintendent Fernando Parra, Assistant Superintendent Angel Canto, and County Attorney George Silva were just a few of our special community officials that spent their morning here at WCMS.  Make sure to be here for our Parent/Teacher Conferences on March 4, from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.  We look forward to your visit with our excellent teachers to discuss the academic achievement of your student.
