Principal's Message

We take great pride in our dynamic school and in our vibrant community. We hope you enjoy our website. If we can help in any way, please call or stop by our school office.

A message from the Principal.

The second month of school was a busy month as well as we continued to focus with our academic achievement.  During the Early Release of September 11, we reviewed the Galileo Data as a staff and shared the results with all of the teachers.  Our students completed the Galileo Tests in English Language Arts, Math, and Science in late August.  Our Instructional Writing Focus of Justify and Tell Me Why was put to the test as our students completed the Galileo Writing Assessment on September 19 and 20.  During the Early Release of September 25, all of the teachers worked extremely hard and graded all of the Writing Samples.  During the week of September 23 to 27, our English Language Arts and Math Teachers gave Interim Assessments to all of our students.  We want to see if the students are showing any progress before the next Galileo Assessment that will take place in November.

We are going to implement a new Connections Class Data Matrix in every first period class this year.  The highlight will be an Increased Awareness School Wide on our English Language Learners (ELLs) throughout the entire school.  We must have more ELLs improve their Data on the Galileo and AzMerit Tests.  Every first period class (22 Teachers) will be keeping track of every students performance on the AzMerit and Galileo Tests all year.

Our second Parent Council Meeting was held on September 26, at 5:30 p.m. in the Library.  NUSD Staff (Mr. Adelmo Sandoval and Ms. Kathy Scott) presented to our Wade Carpenter Parents on the important details of the NUSD Override Election on November 5.  School Resource Officer Hetherington presented to the parents as well on his topics covered in the Law Related Education Classes with our students, including the concern we are having with the issue of Electronic Cigarettes.  We had a good turnout but we always welcome more parents at our monthly Parent Council Meetings.

Have a great Fall Break (will take place the week of October 14 to the 18).  Make sure to ask your student about the Parent/Teacher Conferences that will take place on October 24 from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.  Thank you Parents for all that you do.  We look forward to another great month in October and we can accomplish anything by working together!
