Welcome to Wade Carpenter Middle School in Nogales, Arizona. We've earned a reputation for excellent teachers, a supportive community, and academic excellence. We serve sixth through eighth grades. We represent the growing Nogales Unified School District.
We take great pride in our dynamic school and in our vibrant community. We hope you enjoy our website. If we can help in any way, please call or stop by our school office
We want to first thank all of our parents for your support during this first half of the school year. This next month will be a busy month but there are many exciting events that will be taking place. In addition, we want to update each and every one of you on what has been happening here at Wade Carpenter Middle School, home of the Eagles!
On Thursday, December 1st, at 6:00 p.m. in the Library we will have our second Nutrition Club Parent Night. Mr. Rodriguez, our new seventh grade Math teacher and Club Sponsor will be presenting to our parents some of the healthy choices that we all can make during these cold winter months. We will also have some of our staff present and we look forward to seeing you there!
Our Math Night will take place on Thursday, December 8th, at 5:00 p.m. in the Math Lab. Our sixth grade Math Team of Ms. Durazo and Ms. Encinas will lead a presentation on our sixth grade Math program of Big Brainz. All of our sixth grade students go to the Math Lab at least once per week to work on their multiplication and division on Big Brainz. Our seventh and eighth grade Math Team of Mr. Rodriguez, Ms. Chauniyal, and Mr. Raj will lead a presentation on the Khan Academy Math Website. The Khan Academy Website is being used by our seventh and eighth grade Math Team.
The WCMS Reading Night will be held on Thursday, December 15th, at 5:00 p.m. in the Library Computer Lab. Our English Language Arts Department will share with our parents the two online reading programs that serve as Intervention during our ELA instruction. Our English Language Learners receive the Imagine Learning Intervention program and our English Language Arts students receive Achieve 3000 Intervention program. We are excited to present these two programs to our parents!
In closing, our administration has continued to work in collaboration with all of our departments. Our intention is to focus on the best possible instructional strategies for your students and to hold productive conversations on the most effective curriculum that must be provided here at WCMS. These weekly professional development check-ins are held before school starts at 7:30 a.m. and usually in one of our classrooms. This gives all of us an opportunity to visit a different Math, ELA, Science, and Social Studies class every week.
Thank you for your continued support as we go on this journey together!
