Principal's Message

Welcome to Wade Carpenter Middle School in Nogales, Arizona. We've earned a reputation for excellent teachers, a supportive community, and academic excellence. We serve sixth through eighth grades. We represent the growing Nogales Unified School District.

We take great pride in our dynamic school and in our vibrant community. We hope you enjoy our website. If we can help in any way, please call or stop by our school office.

A message from the Principal.

We want to congratulate all of our students who were recognized on October 27 during the Honors Assembly for their grades and attendance. We also want to congratulate all of our students who received Sports Awards during the Quarter I Sports Assembly. Thank you to our staff for their hard work in organizing these two great celebrations!

A reminder parents that our Galileo Testing will take place November 6 to 9 here at WCMS. We will have a Block Schedule during these days so that our students can take their time and put forth the best effort possible on the ELA, Math, and Science tests.

Our Parent/Teacher Conferences were a tremendous success as we had well over 300 parents attend these important meetings with our Teachers. We provided important information to all of you, most importantly, our school letter grade of a D. We are at 59 percent and only 3 percentage points from a C. We know that we will accomplish this goal of going to the next level. To accomplish this goal we will continue our planning during Early Release this Wednesday, November 1, with Nogales High School and A.J. Mitchell Elementary School. Mr. Keith Young, Educational Consultant, is leading this professional development for all three of our schools. We have identified and will begin to implement a schoolwide instructional focus in Writing and Math.

Make sure to get ready for Boys Basketball and Girls Soccer Season. We are ready, excited, and know we will have successful seasons. Let's continue to work together-Students, Teachers, Staff, and Parents. We will make it happen and always BELIEVE!

Las Lagunas Field Trip.
The Junior Anza Birding Club had it's first field trip of the year to Las Lagunas. We explored the marsh and found many interesting birds, including a rare bird called the American Bittern. We also observed a beautiful white Great Egret fly over the marsh as the sun was setting. Students really enjoyed themselves observing birds, exploring nature, and participating in citizen science.
